Alexandria Angels 15, Parkston Rays 4 (7 innings) 

PARKSTON — Alexandria belted six home runs in a Sunshine League amateur baseball win on Sunday.

Jackson Jarding finished 4-for-5, hit three home runs and drove in four runs. AJ Wilber, Ben Wilber and Tyson Gau each hit home runs for Alexandria, which had 16 total hits. Ben Wilber and AJ Wilber both finished with three hits and two RBIs apiece. Gau drove in three runs. Carter Brown drove in two runs, while Jerrod Zens had an RBI. Alex Mizsak finished with five strikeouts, allowed two hits, one earned run and walked one batter in three innings for the win.

For the Rays, Dylan Soulek and Tanner Dyk each had two hits and an RBI apiece. Jaxx Kurtenbach drove in two runs. Jake Helleloid took the loss, allowing 10 hits, four earned runs and struck out two batters in four innings. 


Platte Killer Tomatoes 11, Winner/Colome Pheasants 1 (7 innings) 

PLATTE — Preston Nedved and Richard Sternberg each had home runs to power Platte to a Sunshine League amateur baseball win Sunday.

Nedved finished 2-for-2 and drove in two runs. Sternberg finished with a solo home run. Hunter Hewitt finished 3-for-3, hit two doubles and drove in three runs for Platte, which had 13 hits. Matt Link went 2-for-4 and drove in two runs. Michael Buitenbos struck out four batters, allowed six hits, one earned run and walked one batter in five innings for the win.

For WC, Drew DeMers, Landon Calhoon, Austin Richey, Zach Harter, Isaiah Olson and Derek Graesser collected hits. DeMers drove in the lone run. Calhoon struck out eight batters, allowed eight hits, seven earned runs and walked four batters in four innings. 


Dell Rapids PBR 3, Canova Gang 1

DELL RAPIDS — Brett Mogen struck out seven batters as Dell Rapids PBR edged the Canova Gang for a Cornbelt League amateur baseball win Sunday.

Mogen allowed four hits, zero earned runs, struck out seven batters and issued zero walks in 6.1 innings for the win. Weston Hansen and Lincoln Fersdahl had two hits apiece, while Fersdahl drove in a run. Chris Kropuenske and Brayden Pankonen each drove in runs. 

For Canova, Riley Genzlinger, Tyler Genzlinger, Jason Miller, Justin Miller and Jackson Remmers each had hits. Luke Koepsell took the loss, allowing eight hits, one earned run, three walks and struck out three batters in six innings. 


Kimball/White Lake Nationals 15, Colome Chaos 5 (7 innings)

COLOME — Kimball/White Lake used a nine-run second inning to pull away from Colome for a Pony Hills League amateur baseball win Sunday.

KWL’s Cooper Leiferman and Trent Wookey each had home runs. Leiferman finished 4-for-4 and drove in five runs. Wookey went 2-for-4 and knocked in two runs. Jaxon Christensen had two hits and drove in two runs. Keaton Christensen went 3-for-4 and drove in a run. Dylan Konechne had two hits and an RBI. Caden Lenz struck out five batters, allowed 16 hits, five earned runs and walked two batters in seven innings.

For Colome, Karson Keiser, Carter Brickman and Shea Connot had three hits apiece. Connot drove in two runs. Joey Cole and Kevin Carter had two hits apiece. Ethan Vobr took the loss, allowing seven hits, eight earned runs, one walk and zero strikeouts in one inning. 


Wessington Springs Owls 4, Burke Bombers 2

BURKE — Bubba Peterson struck out eight batters as Wessington Springs edged Burke for a Pony Hills League amateur baseball win on Sunday.

Peterson allowed four hits, two earned runs and walked four batters in 8.2 innings. Peterson added two hits and drove in one run at the plate. Layne Cotton, Blaze Herdman and Dalton Mogck each drove in runs. 

For Burke, Ben Witt and Gannon Thomas had two hits apiece. Blake Boes and Hunter Van Niewenhuyse each drove in runs. JJ Farner struck out nine batters, allowed seven hits, four earned runs and two walks in nine innings. 


Madison Broncos 12, Hartford/Humboldt Wood Ducks 4

MADISON — Madison used two five-run innings to surge past Hartford/Humboldt for a Cornbelt League amateur baseball win Sunday. Madison plated five runs in the fifth and sixth innings. 

Dawson Bakker smacked a three-run homer for Madison, which had six total hits. Ty Jorgenson and Heith Williams had two hits and an RBI apiece. Tyler Tappe earned the win, allowing five hits, three earned runs, three walks and struck out eight batters in seven innings. 

For the Wood Ducks, Braden Herr and Drew Eldeen had two hits apiece. Logan Larsen drove in two runs. Brodie Herr and Larsen each had home runs. Ben Honkomp took the loss, allowing two hits, four earned runs, three walks and struck out eight batters in 4.2 innings.


Crofton (Neb.) Bluejays 6, Freeman Blacksox 4

CROFTON — Colton Schieffer drove in three runs as Crofton took down Freeman in South Central League action on Sunday.

Schieffer batted 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs while James Kaiser and Tyler Koch each had an RBI-double in the win.

Zach Hegge tossed three shutout innings for the Bluejays, allowing just two hits while striking out seven.

For Freeman, Jackson Fiegen pitched 7.1 innings, allowing six runs on eight hits and three walks, striking out eight.

Bailey Sage and Sawyer Wipf each had two hits and an RBI, including a solo homer by Sage, Evan Scharberg added a solo homer, Landen Niehoff had two hits while Colton Spader tallied an RBI on one hit in the loss.


Yankton Lakers 13, Irene Cardinals 1 (7 innings)

IRENE — Yankton topped Irene in South Central League action on Sunday.

Evan Steiner took the win on the mound in five innings pitched, allowing one run on eight hits and four walks, striking out five.

Tristan Fitzsimmons had two hits, a walk, and an RBI, Rugby Ryken added two hits and two RBIs while Will Rauch, Samuel Kampshoff and Mac Ryken each had an RBI in the win.

For Irene, Garrett Jorgensen took the loss allowing 13 runs on 10 hits and five walks in seven innings pitched.

Elliott Jorgenson, Cole Edberg and Tucker Martz each had two hits in the loss.

 

Mount Vernon Mustangs 13, Corsica Horned Frogs 5

MOUNT VERNON — Mount Vernon pounded out 17 hits as the Mustangs rolled to a Sunshine League win on Sunday.

Tyce Feistner, Tanner Van Driel and Chase Hetland each had three hits and two RBIs, Bradley Dean had three RBIs on three hits, including a homer and a walk, Spencer Neugebauer tallied two RBIs on two hits and a walk, including a homer, Parker Mandel had an RBI-single while Daniel Laufman recorded two hits in the win.

Luke Norden took the win on the mound in five innings pitched, allowing three runs on three hits and five walks, striking out two.

For Corsica, Blake Moke allowed eight runs on 10 hits and two walks in five innings, striking out two in the loss.

TateTolsma had two RBIs on one hit, AJ Goeden and Jayce Slaba both added an RBI on one hit while Carter Wright drove in a run on a walk in the loss.


Four Corners 17, Plankinton Bankers 7 (7 innings)

HAYES — Four Corners pounded out 17 hits and scored 10 seven-inning runs to beat Plankinton in mercy rule fashion on Sunday.

Andrew Coverdale had three RBIs on two hits and a walk, Truett Fitch and Gunnar Bruggeman each had two hits and two RBIs, Noah Hainy tallied three hits and two walks, Brad Hand had two RBIs on a hit and a walk, Austin Hand added two hits, a walk and an RBI while Justin Lester and Matt Lusk each had an RBI on a hit in the win.

Stout earned the win on the mound in one inning of relief, allowing four runs on one hit and two walks.

For Plankinton, Jim Choc allowed seven runs on five hits and eight walks in four innings, striking out three.

Thomas Stange had two RBIs on two hits, including a homer, Cole Pranger added an RBI on one hit while Ryland DeVries collected an RBI in the loss.


Flandreau Cardinals 15, Baltic River Dawgs 5 (7 innings)

FLANDREAU — Flandreau pounded out 12 hits as the Cardinals defeated Baltic in Cornbelt League action on Sunday.

Keith Cutler led the Cardinals with three RBIs on three hits and a walk, JaColby Anderson added two RBIs on two hits, Jacob Patterson had two RBIs on three hits and a walk, Mitch Foster had two walks and two RBIs, Noel Burgos collected an RBI on two hits while Beau Severtson and Curt Anderson each had an RBI in the win.

Anderson tossed six innings for the Cardinals, allowing three runs on five hits, striking out seven.

For Baltic, Jon Wilhelmsen allowed 15 runs on 12 hits and nine walks in 6.1 innings, striking out seven.

Wilhelmsen tallied two RBIs on two hits, including a homer, while Colbe Scott added an RBI in the loss.


Hartford/Humboldt Gamecocks 4, Flandreau Blue Teal 3 (10 innings)

HUMBOLDT — Tyler Migliante’s walk-off single lifted Hartford/Humboldt over Flandreau in Cornbelt League action on Sunday.

Hunter DenBoer had three hits for the Gamecocks, Jonah Rechtenbaugh added two hits, Migliante and Broc Haldeman each had an RBI on one hit while Matt Thorson tallied an RBI on a walk. Noah Vettrus collected two hits as well.

Rechtenbaugh earned the win on the mound in one inning of relief, striking out two while allowing one walk.

For Flandreau, Tash Lunday took the loss, allowing four runs on 11 hits and four walks in 8.2 innings, striking out five.

Kolby Peters had three RBIs on three hits, including two homers, in the loss.


Winner Demons 2, Chamberlain Mallards 0

WINNER — Ethan Bartels struck out 12 batters as Winner blanked Chamberlain in Pony Hills League action on Sunday.

Bartels allowed just two hits and six walks in a complete game shutout, striking out 12 in the win.

Parker Bailey had an RBI on a walk, Kayleb Brozik tallied two hits while Quincy Phillips recorded an RBI on a hit and a walk in the win.

For Chamberlain, Brayden Kreofsky took the loss in eight innings, allowing two runs on four hits and four walks, striking out 11.

Ian Anderson and Cade Johnson each had a hit in the loss.


Menno MadFrogs 13, Lesterville Broncs 9

MENNO — Menno pounded out 18 hits as the MadFrogs topped Lesterville in South Central League action on Sunday.

Brayden Sattler led Menno with four RBIs on two hits, including a homer, Kyle Munkvold added three RBIs on two hits, one homer, Conner Merriam had two RBIs on two hits, including a homer, Dylan Lehr added three hits and an RBI, Nick Ratzloff and Hunter Loeffler both had an RBI on two hits while Macon Oplinger collected four hits in the win.

Doug Hall took the win on the mound in 2.1 innings of relief.

For Lesterville, Derek Quame took the loss in two innings of work, allowing five runs on six hits and a walk, striking out one.

Owen Wishon and Michael Drotzmann each had two hits and an RBI, Ethan Wishon tallied an RBI on a hit and two walks, Hunter Martin drove in a run while Quame had a three-run homer in the loss.


Groton Locke Electric 12, Northville Merchants 5

GROTON — Ty Sieber drove in four runs on four hits as Groton took down Northville in Northern Plains League action on Sunday.

Sieber batted 4-for-5 with a double and a homer, totaling four RBIs in the win, Ben Althoff had three RBIs on two hits, Korbin Kucker tallied two RBIs on a triple, Brevin Fliehs tallied two hits and an RBI while Alex Morris had an RBI on a hit and two walks in the win.

Morris earned the win on the mound in five shutout innings, allowing one hit and one walk while striking out six.

For Northville, Ashton Remily took the loss, allowing six runs on eight hits and two walks in five innings, striking out two.

Remily had four RBIs on two hits, a triple and a homer, and a walk while Ethan Beyers tallied two walks and an RBI in the loss.


Lake Norden Lakers 11, Ramona Express 1 (7 innings)

LAKE NORDEN — Jordon Johnson’s 12 strikeouts powered Lake Norden to an Eastern Dakota League win over Ramona on Sunday.

Johnson allowed just one unearned run on three hits and five walks in seven innings, striking out 12.

Mick Tulson had two RBIs on two hits, including a homer, Hunter Janzen added three RBIs on a triple and a walk, Turner Stevenson had three hits, two doubles, and an RBI, Kale Stevenson added two hits and an RBI while Josh Cleveland and Johnson both had an RBI on one hit in the win.

For Ramona, Aaron Schlosser took the loss in five innings, allowing 11 runs on 11 hits and four walks, striking out seven.

Schlosster and Darwin Stewart each had a hit in the loss.


Harrisburg Woodies 4, Tea Steam 3

TEA — Dalton Lehnen Tyler Mitzel tossed 17 strikeouts as Harrisburg outlasted Tea in amateur baseball action on Sunday.

Lehnen earned the win on the mound in six innings pitched, allowing three runs on seven hits and two walks, striking out nine. Mitzel added eight strikeouts in three shutout innings, surrendering just one hit.

Lehnen had two hits, a double, and an RBI, Kris Regas added two hits and a walk, Noah Boschee collected an RBI on a walk while Brian Stoebner had an RBI on one hit in the win.

For Tea, Henry Hammrich took the loss in three innings, allowing one unearned run on two hits and three walks, striking out six.

Logan Boom had two hits and two RBIs while Dawson Portner added an RBI on a hit and a walk in the loss.
